home again

Ah, home sweet home.
Our last 24 hours in Hawaii were bittersweet for me. We drove along the eastern coast of Oahu and saw absolutely wild scenery - more beautiful than words or even a photo could express - and we finished off the day at a luau where we saw traditional Hawaiian singing and dancing that was very raw and powerful. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, I lost a significant amount of cash in a where’s-my-wallet fiasco. 
I also got stung several times by some fierce variety of giant ant that had crawled up my leg, owie. Luckily, my final memories of Hawaii are of the soft Waikiki sand, the tropical sun shining down on me, the warm clear waters and the cool ocean breeze. Mahalo, Hawai’i, you will be missed.
