There are two ways to say “give up” in the Chinese language.  One is to stop doing.  The other is, in literal translation dead heart, or in a friendlier translation death of the heart.  When the heart lacks the will to move on, it doesn’t matter what your hands or your body continue doing.  It spells an ending… or a beginning.  It still amazes me that with their thousands of years of wisdom and collective experience, they are able to sum up so deep of a concept in such a tiny package.. and yet so eloquently capture the spirit.

What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.
-Richard Bach

At long last, I am at peace.
