My favorite: Nemo would have been vastly more exciting had Jack Bauer been looking for him

Have been sick. Not obvious-lookatme-”share the love” sick, but more of a … quiet suffering/inexplicable and sourceless pain/yearning for death sick. So, my boss must think I’m full of excuses. Strange things happen when I’m sick… I can’t get enough trail mix. I eat it 3 meals a day. Diet coke tastes like seawater. I also woke up yesterday and found that my socks (I sleep with socks when it’s cold out) had detached themselves from my feet and found their way up to my head. Great.
I’m thinking about joining a gym. There’s one in my building that’s fairly well stocked, but it’s still a relatively small room. And if a hot guy is running on one of the three treadmills, well that’s a scary thing. Nobody wants to be a grunting sweaty mess in front of a hot guy. I mean.. woops.

Just read a headline on my ticker.. Danes Feel Threatened….
Uh, did you think about that before making fun of a Muslim holy figure and refusing to apologise for it? Even in America where we think we can say whatever the hell we want, we sue each other silly and issue immediate public apologies when it comes to race and religion. Plus, I’m sure the majority of Islam is peaceful but you got that 0.1 percent of crazies out there that really do have bombs - WHY would you purposefully poke them with a stick?? And what’s with the rest of Europe reprinting the cartoons, like some cowardly retardo show of journalistic solidarity?
Five words are in order - I’m stupid and I’m sorry.

Sooooo exhausted, why!?
I’m halfway done painting a wall in my place and my arm won’t work any more. I’ll just leave it splotchy until the urge to paint strikes again, maybe some time next month.
Last night went to Bistro du Coin for a our friends’ birthday dinner.. it was sooo good. I had gruyere ravioli that was shockingly good, and Kevin had some kind of filet with a peppercorn mushroom sauce (it wasn’t what he ordered so we don’t really know what it was) that was to die for. Last time we ate there I had a steak with the bearnaise sauce, also highly recommended. MmmmMmmMm! The waitresses suck ass at pouring beer though. Afterwards we wandered around and around dc eventually ending up somewhere in adams morgan - surprise surprise.. A few of us broke from the crowd and went to Prince Cafe where we had tea and apple HOOKAH, tres delicieux. Our little smoke belches couldn’t compare with the dude at the next table that was literally roaring smoke out of his mouth like a lion. He would lift his head and RAAAAAWR, out came a cumulonimbus cloud! I thought I saw smoke coming out of his eyes too. Now that’s good hookah. Relaxed and happy, we found the rest of the group at the Blue Room, idly watching a trailer-trash-y couple doing their drunken mating dance in the middle of the room.
Friday, Kevin and I had dinner at Tabaq Bistro - excellent food but horrendous service. Though, I think they had a staffing problem that night so it might not have been the norm. Nice space, very chic. I ordered a calamari and I was served an entire squid. Is this normal?
I am SO TIRED!!! WHY??? I am going to nap before heading out for Superbowl.

I’m such a bitch, but Sasha Cohen looks annoying as hell, doesn’t she? Bet she’s got a voice like a mosquito. Neereeeeeeeeeerrreewwweee
I just finished touching up my resume, and have submitted it to the thing that I’m not talking about yet. Pretty excited. Hope all of you will come visit if I make it.
You know what one of my favorite scenes in Sex and the City is? It’s the scene where Carrie has just started dating Aidan (swoon), and he says to her “I have a life.. I’m just making room for you in it.” What do you live for? What do you make room for in your life?

Oh how the days fly by… a change of residence may be in the works for me. More details to come, I don’t want to get all gloaty only to have the house of cards collapse before I’ve packed. But it’s very exciting.
Last weekend one of my best friends was visiting from Hong Kong.. I love seeing him, but this time he brought a girl with him (that he just met in New York, no less) who’s a real gem. The kind that strikes up conversations with large packs of random men under the guise of “I was just being friendly”, and then hurls in the bathroom and doesn’t flush the toilet.. running away as fast as her sweaty little legs would carry her and leaving us to face the angry white girls who had nowhere to pee. Oh, it was a joy following them around good ole Adams Morgan! Luckily, I did get some alone time with my friend on monday over lunch. Halfway through our lunch, guess who calls and wants to eat at the same place….. gr.
There’s a girl at my work that is so sweet, but so clueless that I often wonder how she finds her way to work every day. I call her Marvin as shorthand so no one knows I’m talking about her. As in, Marvin the Martian. Take me to your leader *meep*.
